The work of printmaker Katherine Jones follows today’s sensitivity towards issues of protection and security often using a recurring house shape, subverted structurally and contextually to simultaneously imply nurture, protection, security and suffocation.
Recently exhibited at The Royal Academy Katherine Jones works on fluid, small-scale watercolours as a way of clarifying ideas that are ‘concluded’ in the making of prints. These graphic works often combine different techniques such as collograph, hand-colouring and block print.
Katherine is the recipient of numerous awards including the London Original Print Fair Prize at the Royal Academy 2014 and will be exhibiting a selection of prints from recent projects.
