|From||4 November 2017|
|To||26 November 2017|
We are pleased to announce this exhibition has been extended and now runs until Sunday 26 November 2017. Please join us in the Gallery to view the works and meet Lynnette to discuss her process and inspirations between 2- 4pm this Saturday.
This exhibition by artist Lynnette Gladding expresses themes of magical realism inspired by topophilia*. Her desire to capture the image of certain buildings has led to investigation of philosophical thoughts about the idea of ‘the house’ and introspection about her fascination with a specific place.
Drawn to dwellings by their genius loci*, the places Lynnette chooses to depict are monuments to human fragility and resilience and she weaves influences of memories into her paintings drawn from experience, literature, film and television.
Lynnette Gladding recently graduated with a First Class degree and an award for Best Painting Student and will be studying for an MA at Norwich University of the Arts next year.
*topophilia – strong sense of place, identifying with a place
