With the winter behind us, Lombard Street Gallery is delighted to announce that ‘Spring Light’, an exhibition celebrating the new season, is showing from Saturday 13 April.
Artists across every genre use light as the cornerstone to give life to their work. Our fresh and inspiring curation includes art to put a spring in your visual step too.
The clean contemporary lines of Peter Lanyon’s artfully sculpted bird boxes, hang against a backdrop of lino cuts by Max Angus, depicting birds they will one day home.
Claire Gill’s seasonal photomontage of the natural landscape sits beside the screen prints of Ruth McDonald, both created in bright spring hues that lift your mood as naturally as the sunlight.
From March onwards our awareness of light becomes more acute. We witness the days becoming slowly longer and watch clocks poised to spring forward. Jon Spencer’s collages focus on both day and night and magically capture the otherworldliness of a night sky.
Lombard Street Gallery is delighted to exhibit for the first time, the work of Ben Sanders. Ben creates complex and stimulating collages that capture perfectly the energy that the new season’s hours release.
Spring Light is a show not to miss, if you’re planning a trip to Margate seaside to blow the winter cobwebs away. The exhibition’s visual imprint will make you smile and delight in all that this new spring time light brings.
Featured Artists Include: Peter Lanyon, Max Angus, Ruth McDonald, Claudio Quattroluni, Claire Gill, Jon Spencer, Ben Sanders and Michael Blaker.
