Please join us at Lombard Street Gallery and Pie Factory Margate to meet the artists exhibiting in this exhibition on Saturday 17 June from 2 to 5pm
The Society is defined by a diversity and openness to ideas. This is what makes it so welcoming to new artists and always makes for an exciting and eclectic mix of styles and media. This exhibition is jointly hosted with Pie Factory Margate.
The United Society of Artists brings together contemporary artists whose work covers a broad spectrum of style, subjects and media. Several UA Members are members of other recognised national art societies including the Royal Society of Oil Painters, Royal Society of British Artists, Royal Society of Marine Artists, Society of Women Artists and the Wapping Group of plein air painters.
This year we are delighted to be showing the portrait of actress Indira Varma featured in the first episode of Sky Arts “Portrait Artist of the Year” painted by Charlotte Baynes who shares her time between Whitstable and Spain. We also have some beautiful local scenes, still life painting and various styles of prints.
The Society enables Members to show and be promoted in exhibitions at different galleries and locations throughout the UK.
Any exhibition of work by UA members is always an exciting and eclectic mix of artistic media. Styles range from representational to abstraction and conceptual. UA members cover a diverse range of approaches including figurative, impressionist and expressionist. This diversity and openness to ideas is what helps to make the UA distinctive in character and so welcoming to new artists.
